What to expect at kitespot Klein Bonaire?

On Klein Bonaire, a 15 minute water taxi drive from Eden Beach Resort you’ll find kitespot Klein Bonaire, with flat water and a gusty side offshore wind.

Klein Bonaire is a deserted Island at the west of Bonaire. The beach is used by a lot of beach guests so watch out for them. Land your kite when you're in the water, so your kite ends up on the beach.

Wind

The wind at kitespot Klein Bonaire is side offshore and is coming from the east. From December until July it’s mostly around 15-25 knots. The wind is a bit gusty during the day but most stable during morning and at the end of the afternoon. This constant tradewind gets its power from the temperature differences between subtropics and equator and the rotation of the Earth.

Kitesurfing rules

It’s officially not allowed to kitesurf at this spot. If you stay at least 75 meters from the shore, in the dark blue water, you’ll probably be alright with the rangers.

Level of riding

This spot is only for advanced riders, and you should not ride alone because there is no rescue.

If you really like to ride at this spot my advice is to book a downwinder to Klein Bonaire, which is basically a guided downwinder from Atlantis to Klein Bonaire.
