Wind
La Caletta benefits from some unique wind conditions that set it apart from other spots on the island. The spot is particularly favored when the Scirocco winds blow from the southeast, providing (~4knots) more wind here than in other nearby spots like San Teodoro. This is largely due to the valley between the east and west coasts of Sardinia, which enhances the southerly winds. This together with the thermal effect increases the wind during the afternoon.
Kitesizes
With typical wind speeds between 15 and 25 knots, most riders around 75 kg will be well powered on a 9m to 12m kite. On lighter thermal days, a 12m is often the go-to choice, while stronger Scirocco or frontal wind sessions favor a 9m.
Kiteseason
The kitesurfing season in La Caletta aligns with the warmer months, typically from May through September. During this period, the wind conditions and weather are most favorable for kitesurfing.
Water Conditions

Launch Area
The launch area at La Caletta is a sandy beach, providing ample space for setting up and launching kites. From May through September it's only allowed to enter the water from the designated kitesurf area at the river mouth. In this period it's not allowed to kitesurf at the north part of the beach.
