Floras Lake can be ridden in wind from virtually any direction, thanks to safe launch options on more than one side of the spot. Water conditions
The water at Floras Lake is fresh and spring-fed, offering clean and clear conditions. The top of the lake provides smooth, flat water, perfect for practicing tricks or learning. As you move away from the northern side, the water becomes choppier. If you're after waves, head to the ocean side where you can find large, powerful waves. The lake is shallow at the top, about waist-deep, but gets deeper further out. There are no significant currents or tidal influences to worry about.
Launch Area
The beach at Floras Lake is sandy and wide enough to provide ample setup space. Launching and landing conditions are generally straightforward, but be mindful of the trees that can obstruct the wind in certain areas. The sand is soft, making it easy to secure your kite.
